Masala Chai's literal translation means "mixed-spice tea" and started as a herbal medicine which after many years developed into the tea we all love today. Although Masala chai has no fixed recipe our chai contains an assortment of popular Indian spices. With a touch of honey and a splash of milk this classic recipe warms your morning up any day.
Smooth cinnamon as well as the mild spice of ginger join together to give a warming sensation.
Assam black tea, Darjeeling black tea, Sikkim cardamom, Kerala Cinnamon, Mirik Ginger, Kerala black pepper, all-spice oil extract
Chai can be prepared either in a strainer, teabag or more commonly in a saucepan. Use about 4g per 200ml of water and place water and chai into the saucepan and heat until simmering, taking care not to heat too quickly as this can affect the taste. Once simmering, strain into a cup and add honey, sugar or milk to your preference and enjoy.
